01
PONKA ACADEMY
Since our founding, the pride and joy of Ponka Foundation has been supporting Ponka Academy. What started as a small outdoor class of 20 students learning under a mango tree has evolved to a multi-building campus of over 350 students ranging from grades K-12. We have big future plans to continue the academy's growth through a new
pre-K program and a vocational-technical school. Your donations help to fuel the school's growth, contribute to classroom resources and curriculums, and ensure our students are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

02
PONKA HOME FOR CHILDREN
In late 2021, the community broke ground on a new structure that will ultimately become the Ponka Home For Children. The Ponka Home for Children will offer safe, loving care for orphans, abandoned, neglected, and abused children - including those with physical or intellectual disabilities. The Home will ensure these children receive an education, protect their dignity and rights, and provide access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

03
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
One of Ponka's most recent initiatives, the Community Agriculture Program aims to provide a steady and stable source of local food for the community by
teaching sustainable & regenerative farming practices. Over the past few seasons, the community has planted an assortment of vegetables and greens, installed irrigation for growing rice, and started an orchard.

04
ECOTOURISM
In conjunction with other ongoing projects, Ponka Foundation is investing in Ponka Village's infrastructure to not only improve the quality of life for the community, but to also allow visitors to experience Sierra Leone. Through Ponka field trips, visitors can participate in volunteer projects, partake in rich cultural experiences, and witness firsthand the positive impact of community-driven development.

05
NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE
The Ponka Foundation partners with programs around Sierra Leone that support the treatment and prevention of malnutrition in children & pregnant/lactating mothers in collaboration with organizations like Edesia Nutrition. Additionally, the Foundation helps fund Ponka Academy's school lunch program.
